01 What is the teacher student ratio of the School?
The teacher student ratio of the School is 1:12.
02 What are the qualifications of the teaching staff?
All the teaching staff is qualified as per CBSE norms.
03 What are the results of the School?
We aim to ensure that all students achieve examination results which are better, relative to their abilities. We have produced 100% results in the CBSE Board examinations for the past many years with a number of merits and distinctions every year.
04 What languages are taught in the School?
Grade Languages
Nursery to Grade V English and Hindi
Grade VI to Grade VIII English and any two of Sanskrit & Hindi
Grade IX & Grade X English and any one of Sanskrit & Hindi
Grade XI & Grade XII English
05 Are any foreign languages taught in the School?
No, foreign languages are not taught in the school.
06 Do you provide extra coaching?
Yes, we do provide extra coaching as per the needs of the child.
07 What are the subjects offered in Class XI and XII?
The School offers Science (Medical & Non Medical), Commerce with & without Maths and Humanities.
08 Do you provide coaching for competitive exams?
No, we do not provide special coaching for competitive exams. As competitive exams are based on the CBSE syllabus, students who perform well in CBSE are also likely to do well in entrance examinations.

FAQ's Boarding

01 Do the students get separate rooms?
No, there are no separate rooms. There are different dormitories accommodating between 12 to 28 children.
02 Who looks after the small kids?
There are matrons who look after the small kids and house masters who look after the different dormitories supervised by a Hostel Superintendent.
03 Do you provide Non-vegetarian food?
We provide only vegetarian food with eggs.
04 What sort of drinking water is provided?
We have Reverse Osmosis (RO) filters for the children.
05 Are fruits and milk provided?
Yes, seasonal fruits are provided regularly and milk twice a day. All meals have green vegetables, pulses and yogurt. Sweet dish is provided daily during dinner.
06 What about the children who do not eat properly?
Special attention is given to such children and a teacher is made responsible to look after the child.
07 What about laundry?
There is in-house laundry. Children above Class V are encouraged to wash their own undergarments.

01 What are the sports facilities in the School?
The School provides facilities for Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton etc.

Open gymnasium is a unique facility provided by the school. It is scientifically designed to support physical growth of the children and can be used under the supervision of a trained gym trainer.

03 Do you have computer teaching?
Yes, we have a well-equipped computer lab.
04 Do the students take part in tournaments?
Yes, tournaments are held in the School in all disciplines and all students are encouraged to take part. The School also holds inter-school tournaments and sends children to other schools to participate.
05 What are the medical facilities available in the School?
The Director of the School is a qualified Doctor and looks after the health needs of the children. In addition, there is a Medical Centre in the University campus with a resident Doctor and an ambulance.

FAQ's International Students

01 Can international students study in Chinmaya boarding school in India?
Yes, they can.
02 Can foreign/NRI students come on Tourist Visa to compare admission opportunities?
No. If an international student wants to explore various options to study in India before finalizing one, he/she can choose to apply for a provisional Student Visa of 6 months duration from an Indian Mission abroad. After getting confirmed admission, the student can apply for a Student Visa by providing the necessary documentary evidence.
03 Can international or NRI students get a Student Visa directly from Indian Missions abroad?
Yes, provided they have confirmed admission to a course in a reputed/recognized school in India.
04 Will the teachers be aware of the new pedagogical dimensions suggested by CBSE?
The Board intends to conduct extensive teacher empowerment programs for schools which adopt CBSE curriculum.
05 Are there any specific recommendations for student attendance?
The students would be required to have a minimum of 75% attendance on the total number of working days of the school.
06 Can the application fee be waived for international students?
No, we do not waive the application fee for international students except in very rare circumstances.
07 Can I study part time?
No, international students cannot study part time.

FAQ's Parent Communication

01 Do you allow children to call their parents on phone?
The children are not allowed to call their parents. Parents are allowed to call their children once a week on designated days and timings.
02 Is there any other mode of communication?
The students are allowed to send emails under supervision and letter writing is compulsory once a fortnight.
03 Do you allow the parents to meet their children & take them out?
Parents are advised to visit their children on the last Saturday of the month after School hours. They can take the child out for the night and leave the child back on Sunday evening.
04 Do you take students out for tours, treks etc.?
Yes. Children are taken on an optional educational tour of 5–7 days every year. They are also taken on regular outings to places like Shimla and Kausali. A camp is also organised every year.
05 Is the School only for Hindus?
The School has students of various religions including Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Christians. All students are encouraged to practise their own religion in their own way.
